Mom's garden
My mom's garden - the best!
I am in the northern part of Denmark for a couple of days - so wondeful to get out here and see how everything sprouts from the earth.
The strawberries in the last photos are not from mom's garden, though, but from a local farmer nearby.

Wood
I cannot think of a material more fantastic than wood?
Remember this? I am still dreaming of it - maybe one day.
A couple of weeks ago I read an article in the newspaper about living in trees. This French company has specialised in building houses in trees - all very beautiful and natural. No branches are cut of when the houses are build - everything in the constructions is adapted for the tree. So fascinating.

My home today
I have been wanting this kind of plant for a while (don't know the name of it...?) and now I finally found it. I like the little dots of yellow.
The flashlights are some of the totally indispensable flea market finds from Sweden. Really good ones - and you never know when you'll need a flashlight like this. I should have left them in the house where they will probably be of more use though, but you never know...
The beautiful little handmade car from the same flea market.
Yesterday it was Midsummer and we always go to a bonfire but not this year because we were all still exhausted after the flu. It made me a little sad - I don't think I have ever missed a Midsummer bonfire before.

Dancing Queen
I have been overwhelmed by a summer flu for the last couple of days. When I finally woke up this afternoon I went to the playground with my little dancing queen. At first she was deeply concentrated on performing (the audience: me, another mum and her 1-year old daughter only interested in digging in sand) - and then, after a while, she got a little tired...

In the Mail
Last week we finally sent out the invitation for the wedding.
Despite my coming husband is a graphic designer he very early claimed that the invitations were my responsability - so they turned out very handmade: The text is handprinted with a stamp and the cards are decorated with little handcut garlands. Now they have hopefully found their receivers.

Summer Party & Joy
Ohh, so many things happened this weekend!
Friday was the big summer party in Frida Viola's kindergarten with performances, circus, activities and eating. She loved it.
Saturday she was alone with her dad while I had a wonderful day with two dear friends, my sister and my mom. We had a sushi lesson with a very skilled sushi chef (I never tried making sushi on my own before) and I must admit that after the lesson I am even more full of admiration for this very aesthetic craft - so delicate, filled with grace and yet so simple. I was so concentrated that I didn't even sense to take photos - but I hope that some of the others did.
Today we went to this very nice place - really recommended if you want quickly to get out of town and into open space.
I love her little overalls - found in a thrift store in Sweden.

Patterns
Some patterns that make me happy right now:
1. The inside of the legendary "Ett Hem" from 1899 by Carl Larsson
2. Old plastic bowl
3. Cutting board from Liebling
4. Embroidery made by A's grandmother
5. Inside of old pixie (the story was terrible so I pulled it out, but I like the little pattern)
6. Espradrillos with stripes and pattern made by the sun
7. Inside of "Rooster's Off to See the World" ("Hanen Hannik" in Danish) from 1972 by Eric Carle
Found this nice little video on "Rooster's Off to See the World".

My home today
We grow strawberries on a little plant in the window sill in Frida Viola's room. We had the first berries today. They are small but very tasty.
Good night!
