Cecilies Bog / "Book of Cecilie"
Frida Viola and I have been reading this book over and over again this summer. Not reading actually, but looking in and talking about. Cecilies Bog / "Book of Cecilie" is made by the Danish author and artist Hans Scherfig in 1976. It consists only of collages, no text. Some of them strange and curious, others more thematically pasted, all of them very beautiful and perfect as starters of many stories, questions and talks. I would love to know more about the book, but I haven't been able to find much. Maybe some of you know it...?

The Happy Lion
Today all three of us went to the theater to see the story about The Happy Lion. We wanted to make something special with Frida Viola before the baby arrives, and A took half the day off. Both he and I remember Louise Fabio's stories about The Happy Lion and especially the fantastic illustrations made by her husband, Roger Duvoisin, from our childhood. Frida Viola has just the perfect age for the stories right now.
Det Lille Teater (a legendary Danish children's theater) has such a nice atmosphere, and we brought some of their fantastic posters with us home. The two in the top photo are from the 70's, I think, made by Birgitte Livbjerg.

New Book # 2: Vintage Craft
Another nice book I had for my birthday is "Vintage Craft" by Cathy Callahan. The book is filled with updated inspiration from the '60s and '70s. I especially like the crocheted mobile in the photo just above - a nice mobile for the baby to come :)
There is also a section on macramé hangers that makes me feel like throwing everything else away and immediately start making knots.

Frida Viola's Advent Calendar - December 13
December 13 - "Pippi vill inte bli stor", one of Astrid Lindgren's fantastic stories about Pippi Longstocking. In this story Pippi, Annika and Tommy decides, that they will never grow up. They want to remain children so they can play until they are a hundred years, at least...
Found in the local thrift store near our old house in Sweden,

Urban Farming
Yesterday I went to Århus on a one-day-trip for a meeting. But I also had time to "re-investigate" my old town, so rarely visited since we moved to Copenhagen. I had my coffee at Lynfabrikken and enjoyed just sitting there browsing in all their nice books. This one particularly catched my eye - "My Green City. Back to Nature with Attitude and Style" - filled with sympathetic projects and beautiful photos.
More urban farming:
Prags Have - very close to where I live
Johnson's Backyard Garden
Eagle Street Rooftop Farm - and from The Selbys
And children gardening projects in Copenhagen
