Soft spot

Today, when I was organizing Frida Viola's room I realized that I have collected piles of baby linen in her closet. All of it very nice, but really far too much for one child.

Most of it from my own childhood, the rest thrift store finds - I do have a soft spot.

Later today, Frida Viola and I went to the local Asian supermarket. I love strolling around there looking at strange ingredients and nice labels. Frida Viola really liked the flowers.

ohh, and by the way: Little Nordic is a nice new site, via fine little day.

Easter Eggs

I have never made Easter eggs before (yes, of course when I was a child) - maybe because we have always been traveling during Easter. This year I am obsessed with making these little handsewn ones.

I like the idea of making something myself for Frida Viola. Something with lots of little surprises and details that will learn her about Easter without resorting to the vast amount of commercial offers and candys of the supermarket. 

I will show you more later.

By the way, we will be going here during the holidays - can't hardly wait.

Where we sleep

This is where we sleep.

A's grandmother made the beautiful patchwork bedspread just before she died. It contains little pieces of fabric from all of her life. Such a fine memory.
My aunt made the little patchwork in violet for Frida Viola when she was born. The white parts are from one of my dad's old shirts. I like the idea that we sleep in memories.

Baby Blues

My mother made the hand printed teddy bear linens back in the 70s - with potato print, I think ;-)
The two other linens are also from my childhood.
