*hello*

I'm still here, but we are up here, in our Swedish house. These past weeks have been so packed with holidays and we have had wonderful get-aways and mini vacations with the girls. Up here we love it - June is so lush and green and we are grateful to have the opportunity to free our city kids a bit and let them explore on their own.

1. Molly in the green - still in her pajamas.
2. Wild flowers from my big girl.
3. She is reading comics from another decade in bed.
4. Flea find (and the doll came with an impressive handmade wardrobe!)
5. We practice the names.
6. Rhubarb compote in the making - it was good, with freshly baked waffles.

More Sweden

Right now at Lille Nord there is a small report from our Easter vacation in Sweden. I loved that day at the lake (and both girls had their stockings soaked because they couldn't resist the temptation of going a little too far out into the lake).

If you are considering a summer vacation in Sweden or if you are curious to know more, do also read finurlig's guide to summer in Sweden at Lille Nord.

we want more

We are back in the city again and Molly has been standing with her wellies on at the door all day ready to go back to the country house. We will, in some weeks.

If you also want to go to Småland you might find some inspiration here. I wrote a Småland guide to Lille Nord with our favourite things to do & see. Let me know if you have any great tips for Småland and Sweden?

1. Flea find for Molly.
2. & 3. Breakfast & morning light.
4. Blue anemones from the woodland.
5. She found a horse at the flea market, best friend.
6. Quilts & rag rugs go so well together.
7. Reading.

rag rugs

Beautiful Swedish rag rugs. We have them all over in our Swedish country house. I like them much - and I love to find them at flea markets and in thrift stores. They are a perfect fit for the the house.

getaway

ohh, my gosh, I feel privileged that we have this place, our refuge away from city life. Whenever we get up here we are reminded how good life is here. And whenever we are back in cph we know that it is the combination of the two that works for us.

I don't have a favourite time of year - but I love crisp and clear days like this one, when the sun is low and the shades are long.

bluish & greenish

For the past years we have been collecting old plates for our house in Sweden at the local flea markets. Our criterias have been bluish & greenish, only classic Swedish porcelain as Rörstrand, Gustavsberg, Upsala-Ekeby, and max 20 SEK. Our collection is growing slowly since our price threshold is quite low, but this summer I was lucky to find good treasures at bargain price.

I thought it was fun when I saw Elizabeth Dunker's blue collection at fine little day.

goodbye old house

House is cleaned, bags are packed. Tomorrow we will leave. Could easily stay here for several weeks more. I don't think we have ever swimmed so much in the lakes as this year. The photos are from a favourite lake nearby our house.

inside the house

Thought I would share with you some photos from inside our Swedish country house. Everything here is quite worn out. It has become a principle that all we bring here and put inside should be found at the local flea markets or charity shops. I like it this way. We have continously projects inside and around the house - big plans and dreams - but most often only the smaller things are getting done, as a new hook here or there, a new picture on the wall or a new bedside lamp. Because we also want time to go to the lake, make a bonfire or search for raspberries in the thickets along the road.

Last year I posted about the exterior of the house.
