Jinbei
Frida Viola has two little jinbeis, both in blue batik. The lower one was mine - the batik just as beautiful as a landscape.
Yu-I made a beautiful little jinbei, also in blue.
Cloth Inventory from Lines & Shapes.
I found the kimono below here.

Where we sleep
This is where we sleep.
A's grandmother made the beautiful patchwork bedspread just before she died. It contains little pieces of fabric from all of her life. Such a fine memory.
My aunt made the little patchwork in violet for Frida Viola when she was born. The white parts are from one of my dad's old shirts. I like the idea that we sleep in memories.

Delicate
Today was a beautiful day with lots of work at the gallery.
A. made a wonderful risotto with these super fresh oyster mushrooms.
Now it's weekend for us.

Braids
I love braids. In all sorts of fabric. There is something very delicate, fascinating and almost iconic about braids. My own hair isn't that long any more so I rarely wear braids myself. But I love looking at others'. These are three of them:
1. From a market in Pisac - Peruvian women have fantastic braids. I couldn't keep my eyes from them.
2. Beautiful braid necklace by Finnish designer Katri-Inkeri found at Napa via Elizabeth from Fine Little Day.
3. Handbraided scarf - I can't remember where I found the photo, sorry.
Veronik and Mieke from miekewillems also have beautiful braids, and so does Hanna from manteli.
This is me wearing braids at some friends' wedding some years ago.

Hope Creeping Out The Jar
Wish I could go and see this exhibition with German artist Julia Pfeiffer.
Love the strange photo, the ceramic jars, the whole set-up and the title.
Hedgehog
New thrift store find for Frida Viola's room: The ceramic hedgehog plaque. Very nice colours.
My aunt made the crohet mobile for me when I was little - so sweet.

Andreas Eriksson
Right now: Working on an article on very talented Swedish artist Andreas Eriksson.
These are all older works - so difficult to choose.
I will show you more later.

Little Peruvian Family
We had a wonderful weekend - hope that yours was just as fine.
I found this little family at a market in Peru some years ago.
The lady who sold it was very old and full of wrinkles. All her stuff was handmade of recycled fabrics.
I love the colours, the different wool fabrics, and the simplicity in the dolls.
Maybe I will post some photos from Peru later on.

The way home
She is so big now - imagine she is almost 2.
Top - on her way home from kindegarten today. She knows the way on her own.
Bottom - with beloved Mr. Dot.
Wish you all a lovely weekend.
Thrifting
I love second hand stores and thrift finds.
Top photo - in combination with litlle drawing.
Second photo - beautiful linen thread.
Third photo - I found four of these Arabia bowls yesterday in our local second hand shop. We had the same in mine childhood.
Bottom photo - pillows - left one made by my mother back in the 70ties, right one found at flea market in Sweden.

Byggfabriken
Beautiful photos and lots of inspiration from Byggfabriken.
They also have a very fine blog - one of my favorite spots during the renovation of our appartment.
