feeling summer

yes, we feel summer now. In the past week we had some Danish holydays. A had his birthday and the girls woke him up with lots of hugs in the morning. We went to Tivoli & we picked the first strawberry flowers in the backyard.

1. Molly has dressed up & reads books. She wants to be big now.
2. She picked me tiny pink strawberry flowers in the backyard.
3. Birthday hugs.
4. "Lune hveder" - a Danish tradition for a special holyday. These were good, with lots of cardamom.
5. & 6. Tivoli.

we have anemones everywhere

We are up here in our Swedish country house for the holidays. It's so quiet and nice. We have anemones all over the plot and everything is much more springlike than last year's Easter vacation. It's good to be here & the girls are happy.

Lisbon #4

There are so many beautiful old shops, pâtisseries and facades in Lisbon. Just look at photo 4 & 5 where we had coffee and cake. Photo 7 is the reflections of the morning sun at the facade across the street from our balcony. And photo 8 was a treasure trove.

Lisbon #1

We are back home from a wondeful week in Lisbon. The city really was beautiful with its watercolour like light, all its fantastic tiles and mosaics and its many pracas (squares) and parks. The girls liked it a lot - they were exhausted in the evenings of course, but they had so much positive attention with their blonde hair from the heartwarmingly friendly and sweet, sweet locals - smiles, hugs, chit chats, candies, and lots of helping hands with the stroller. I have been looking through my many, many photos - these are just a few, and I won't spare you for more in the next days.

Lisbon

In a short time we will fly to Lisbon. We are all very excited, especially Frida Viola.
I have only spent one day in Lisbon many years ago, when I was 18 and on interrail, coming in from Barcelona and heading towards the coast. I remember the city as spellbinding and that I really wanted to stay and explore it.

I would be grateful for any good Lisbon tips?

We are back in Copenhagen and tomorrow our everyday life will start again. Today I have been running around in the apartment trying to get organized and ready for another mode. Browsing through these last photos from our vacation - only a few days old - these quiet and simple days at the country already seem far away. It's strange how soon the pulse and the noises of the city get into you.

These last days of our vacation we have been visiting family and friends who live at beautiful places. Look at photo 3 - wouldn't it be nice to have this view from your living room...?

Vasen

We try to do as many things during our vacation that we can't do in our daily life in the city. Today we went to Vasen - a beautifully situated and very old agriculture that uses organic principles although not certified yet. It's possible to pick your own berries and flowers and the place also has a small farmer's market and a café with juices, homemade cakes, and simple food as rye bread with potatoes. The girls were especially thrilled about the edible cornflower fields and the rasperries. Molly had a hard time keeping her little fingers from the berries. The thatched buildings that dates back to the end of 1700 are carefully restored and if you ever come to this part of Denmark the place is surely worthwhile a visit. It's well tucked away in the hills at the end of a long and narrow road.
