Back in Copenhagen

Back in Copenhagen everything is in bloom. Especially the magnolias are wonderful right now.

In Sweden we went to a couple of flea markets and found some very nice plates, "Båge" from Upsala Ekeby.
They are perfect for summer food.

The beautiful bird is an invitation card for the exhibition In Your Words with Nanna Debois Buhl and Brendan Fernandes at Karen Blixen Museet. Ohh, I am looking very much forward to see this exhibition.

And finally we celebrated Frida Viola's 2-years birthday in kindergarten. This weekend will be the big birthday party weekend!

Letter from Hermine

While I was in Sweden this beautiful letter from Hermine found its way to my letter box.
It contains so many fine little treasures - a feather and beautiful buttons found while walking.
I love to reopen the letter again and again and to unwrap all the little finds and notes.

See Hermines nice little walk-walk-walk-movie.
Thank you, Hermine, for all these little stories and treasures!

Until next time...

The house is empty, cleaned and closed down - waiting for next visit. We are back in Copenhagen - and I hardly can't wait to go there again. Our apartment seems so small, and I am longing for the open outdoor space.

Last couple of days

The last couple of days in our old house have been wonderful.
We started out as 14 and ended up being just the 3 of us.

We have been doing more work on the house, visiting flea markets, cooking and baking more food, some of us seeking for eggs - and all of us just enjoying the place and the beautiful weather.

First 2 days

First couple of days in our old Swedish house!
I love to re-open the house after winter - after all these months. Now the house is bustling with life: We are 14, 7 kids and 7 grown ups.

The kids love it - they are playing all day long outside.

We have been cleaning the house, preparing the ground for summer, painting the facade, baking, cooking, making yoga and playing.

Finally!

Finally spring and finally vacation!
We will leave tomorrow!

Today we found these nice handpainted wooden eggs at the Polish grocery.
Happy Easter!

Ever-changing

Her room is changing a little all the time. I guess that's how it is.
This is how it looks at the moment.

The orange closet was A's grandmother's first kitchen closet.

Below is how the room looked when Frida Viola was new born. Wonder how it will look when she is 10.

Ready to fly!

Soon she will be 2 years!

We made these little paper kites together - Frida Viola did the painting and I the cutting and pasting.
Now they are ready to fly out and tell her friends about her birthday party.

Ellen's Cabaret

Last summer we went to Møn.
(For those of you not familiar with Danish geography it's a small island).
I totally fell in love with Ellen's Cabaret. The place had been closed down for years (at least I think so) and seemed strangely dislocated in the idyllic settings of the island.
The last photo is the local port office.

This year I want to go and see this exhibition: Folklore - Old New Forms

"What is the role of craft within contemporary art today? How will young artists interpret folklore traditions of woodcut, patchwork, weaving and naive painting and what does the growing global exchange mean for the old traditions new forms? Folklore - Old New Forms, a group exhibition, where the aesthetic and symbolic power of folklore is continued in a modern language."

Amongst others Emil Westman Hertz will be participating.
Ohh, I am looking forward!
