Little glimpses

Some little glimpses of what we have been doing the last couple of days.
I love to refind the toys from my own childhood in my mom's cupboards. Frida Viola loves to play with them.

The books are for the wedding - guest books for memories and greetings, bound in old tapestry and paper.

Vacation

Summer vacation has begun for us. We are here.
Frida Viola likes it so much - there are so many new things to explore.

I like this little cook book on berries and fruit. Lots of projects for the summer.

Outside

We went here again today. Such a fantastic place and such a relief to leave the city for a while. Everything out there is made well - the wooden toys, the rentable bicycles, the little places where you can sit and picnic, but most of all I simply love the open space.

Yesterday, I tried baking the flourless peanutbutter cookies found here. They are delicious!
I have made an attempt to translate the recipe into Danish - see below.

Peanutbutter Cookies

Have a nice weekend!

My Home Today

The pile of pennants for the wedding is slowly growing... We need about 150 pieces so there is still a little sewing to be done.

The little undershirt with giraffe print from my childhood - she likes wearing it but soon it will be too small.

In her room it looks as if Alfons Åberg is a little in love with Yoshitomo Nara's girl.

Michelle Carlslund - for her very nice illustrations!

Unpredictable

We have very mixed weather at the moment - heavy rain and burning sun at the same time.
I try to be optimistic wearing summer dresses, but I must admit I have been soaked a couple of times.

Photos from a playground we like to visit in the afternoon.
I like to watch the little windmills.
Soon we will be playing here.

Biscotti Factory

We have been baking all day - biscottis with almonds, pistacios and orange. For the wedding.
There is a sweet smell all over the apartment. Now they are stored in every single one of our cake tins and boxes - so many biscottis!

Busy Summer Days...

Busy summer days at the moment - making preparations for the wedding. Maybe you can guess what I am sewing for the party...?

Bought this for Frida Viola today - looking forward to play with it myself too. These looks nice as well - for long car travels.

I am perpetually in love with these beautiful tiles.

Memory

We play memory a lot at the moment. I like this old one found in the thrift store. It reminds me of my own childhood. Some of the objects are too old fashioned, though, to be recognized by a child today - it's funny.

Below - tonight's dinner - also brings back childhood memories. It reminds me about something my mom could have done. It was good.

My home today

I'm back in Copenhagen again. I don't know about you, but my home always seems a little changed after being away for a couple of days, as if you see it with different eyes. What was just mess or indifferent details before suddenly appear in other ways. I like this feeling.

My grandmother gave me the old, white, ceramic jug - such a beautiful everyday thing.

A little more from mom's place

A beautiful tablecloth my mom did in the 70's - handprintet and embroidered on linen.

And some of the local surroundings - a nice old thrift store sign (Red Cross) and some cups I didn't buy.

Beautiful textiles from Birgitte Tolnov.
