Louise Bourgeois: The Fabric Works

I wrote my thesis on Louise Bourgeois. I never get tired of admiring her fabric works.
This book has been on my wish list for so long.

Silence

I love the light and the silence of this time of the year. In the mornings, when Frida Viola and A and the rest of the house have left, Molly takes a nap and everything is so quiet.

my home today

The weather has been so beautiful today - cold and crisp and with sun from a high blue sky. And we spent all afternoon in ikea - we just had to pick one single thing up, but it always cheats you and you end up spending much more time (and money!) than intended. And I don't even like ikea that much.

1. Heather - so beautiful right now.
2. Molly in action - in the sweetest little knitted dress that a good friend handed over to us.
3. & 4. The woolen jumpsuit is finished and has been in use for a while.
5. Frida Viola brings me something from the forest every day.
6. And she is also quite obsessed with painting in her new painting book from Alvilda.

finurlig giveaway # 2

You know that I love flea markets and thrift stores and everything old, used and found.

I found this little set of 6 teaspoons at a fleamarket in a beautiful old house in Sweden this summer. The lady who sold them was 6th generation living in the farmhouse. The house was filled with old stuff from floor to ceiling, and the lady remembered stories about every little thing. We bought some very nice things - most of them are now in use in our own old house in Sweden - but this little set of teaspoons with roses will now go further on as a giveaway. The teaspoons can be used at tea parties in the kid's play-kitchen - or of course in your own cup of tea...

Leave a comment and I will choose a winner at random next Friday evening (Friday November 2) and post it here.

Kalon Studios

I just discovered Kalon Studios' beautiful design and work through Misha and Puff. The new Caravan Divan (first photo) is really beautiful, but looking through their website I found many other very nice things. The philosophy behind the design is symphatic in every sense - using only eco-friendly and sustainable materials and local manufacturing handcrafted to order. Most of the designs have multiple functions and can be used for lifetime.
Even more I was happy to see that Kalon Studios have an European studio as well - and following the principles, the designs sold in Europe are also manufactured in Europe.
All photos from Kalon Studios.

my home today

Small things that make me happy right now. Molly is getting better at eating - right now carrot is her favourite, and it looks so nice in Rörstrand's "Citron" porcelain. The weather has been so beautiful the last couple of days, and today I discovered the very fine sign just nearby - and isn't the copper beech behind it fantastic? The little slippers remind me of my own childhood - my dad's mom used to knit similar ones for me and I remember how cosy it was to cuddle up in bed with them. Mieke Willems also have similar ones.

Coffeeklatch - Jan & Delphine

So many inspiring spaces at Coffeeklatch - this is from Jan & Delphine's home.

new magazines

You know that I love magazines. Recently I was so lucky to win a copy of Milk Déco through fine little day's giveaway. Such a bliss to sit in the evenings with a cup of tea and browse through the inspiring homes and stories about creative and talented people.

Below is another little magazine, kleinformat, that is new to me. It's based in Vienna (and it's in German!) and it's main focus is living with kids. kleinformat is stuffed with DIY tutorials and nice ideas.
