Abandoned

Look at these fantastic photos of a Parisian apartment left untouched for over 70 years. The owner, Mrs. De Florian, left it just before World War II broke out and never returned. When she died at the age of 91 the apartment was reopened by her heirs. I love the thought of this time capsule, let alone with all her personal belongings, dust, silence, cobwebs and it's own secrets. The photos are beautiful and remind me of Robert Polidori's photos of abandoned homes and ramshackled places and his series of Cuban interiors that have the same feeling of decay and time warp.

They also make me think of this story and this place - and of course also of our old house in Sweden that was also once abandonded in great haste.
